Executive Producer and Creative Director at Big Spring Media, Alex Penrose, has worked in professional production roles since 2008. He started his career in broadcast television working for NBC and CBS, where his work was seen by millions of viewers.
After freelancing as a director, producer, cinematographer, and editor, he worked in-house on the marketing team for a global tech start-up focusing on content creation for a niche audience. He has managed a YouTube channel with over a million subscribers - while building a core production team, implementing company infrastructure, and creating new revenue streams for the channel's business.
To better understand the customer journey and success metrics, Alex earned a Digital Marketing Certification at the University of Texas. Noticing a gap in the market and wanting to deliver content that performs better, Alex founded Big Spring Media in 2021, a full-service production company that works directly with brands and creative agencies. At BSM, he leads a talented team that produces award-winning work for clients like H-E-B and Subway. With a knack for finding the right person for the right job, Alex brings together a diverse crew of expert filmmakers for each project, making sure every client’s voice is heard.
Austin Gilliam has been immersed in the world of video since 2013, and he’s since completed hundreds of film projects. He initially studied IT in college, allowing him to manage complex video infrastructure and stay up-to-date with the latest tech. In 2021, Austin shifted his focus to specialize in post-production, becoming adept at using Adobe Video Suite and Davinci Resolve.
As a lifelong learner, Austin is constantly honing his skills and striving to create exceptional content as the Post-Production Supervisor at Big Spring Media. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, watching Spongebob, and working on DIY house projects.
Deni Roque has a rich production background with roots in Texas. After graduating from the University of North Texas Media Arts program and the Austin Film Society Creative Career program, Deni freelanced in various production roles, allowing him to gain a wealth of experience.
Initially studying to be a Scenic Carpenter/Designer and Stage Manager for theatre productions, Deni's journey into film and production showcases his versatile talent and passion for creative storytelling. His attention to detail
In his free time, he loves watching movies, reading, hiking with his dog Ziggy, and producing and directing personal creative projects.
Wojtek Stypko has over a decade of experience producing for major labels and brands in Los Angeles, such as Warner Bros, Universal, ABC, Disney, Amazon, and Coca-Cola. A graduate of the University of North Texas with a degree in Radio, Television, and film, Wojtek has worked with A-list talent both in front of and behind the camera, earning multiple Clio, Telly, and Viddy awards.
In 2020, Wojtek moved to Austin to reconnect with his roots and be closer to family while continuing to work on story-driven projects as the Senior Line Producer at Big Spring Media. He loves working with passionate people who love what they do, both in the industry and on the client side. He’s also an avid rock climber and boxer who loves spending time being active with his pup, Charlie.
